WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY HISTORY
World Nature Conservation Day began in India by those who were concerned about protecting the Earth’s natural resources. The Environmental Information System (ENVIS) Center in New Delhi promotes the day. The Department of Environment, the Ministry of Environment and Forests, and the Government of India sponsor ENVIS. Many countries have joined India in observing this important day for our planet.

#WORLDCONSERVATIONDAY
Our planet’s natural resources consist of air, sunlight, soil, minerals, fuels and water. All of these things are found in nature and used by people. Currently, there are nearly 8 billion people that populate the Earth, with that number expected to exceed 9 billion by 2037. This means we all are using the earth’s natural resources every day, using them up at a rapid pace. Many people are concerned they will become depleted, causing concern about educating ourselves about the importance of conserving our natural resources.
